I will be moving to S.Korea soon enough (hopefully Seoul/Busan) and I was just wondering what the coverage of the Premiership was like? Do plenty of bars show live matches? It would be nice to be able to watch my beloved Stoke City now and again (other than via a crappy internet stream that is!)

Hi There,

Yes, they show loads of Premiership Football here on a channel called SBS Sports. Champions League games are on MBC-ESPN (Both Korean commentary). These are both cable channels, but cable TV is really cheap here, as little as W16,000 a month for some packages. If you get Skylife (a more expensive cable or satellite system) you'll get another channel called STAR-Sports (English com), which shows a few also, which will mean that you'll get more choice of games than from Sky back home.

Also, quite a few bars in Seoul show footy, some have some South African channels (English com) through the internet (good quality), which further broadens the selection available. I don't know about Busan though.

Manchester United, followed by other teams with a Korean player get the most airplay on SBS Sports. However, almost all games shown at times other than 3pm on Saturday (UK time) will be televised, so I'm sure that you'll get to see Stoke play a bit.

Yea, heaps of EPL coverage. I usually just torrent match of the day and watch the big games when they are live.
