Is there a limit on the amount of money you can send home? What should I bring with me to the bank? |

I think all banks differ, but my bank, IBK, sets the limit at something like 10 million won per transaction and like 50 million won per year or something like that. I don't think you need to worry about the limits. You'll need your passport, ARC card, and bank card. |

Bring everything. Passport, ARC, bank book, bank card, all the info for your bank back home. You may need very little of it, but today I needed all of it.
I've heard you can only send $10,000 back without it getting more complicated. I don't know as I've never sent more than $8000 at once. That was only once... I wish it was more often... send me money... |

The banks I've dealt with have had a 10k USD limit per day.
Last year a different bank told me that to send over 10k (or around that figure, can't remember) a year, I'd have to prove where the funds came from, i.e., pay slips. They checked them only once, though.
Haven't encountered that this year, however. But agree with the other poster, bring all of those things. You may or may not need them. After the first time, it should run pretty smoothly. |
