I don't understand why I have to do an open class that's not required by SMOE. *shrug* That's basically the stem of this question.

So, I've got a couple extra-teaching classes per week and they (my school) just told me i'll be doing an open class in 3 weeks for them.

1) Why?

2) Do I have to?

1) do the parents pay extra for these classes? if so, the audience will most likely be parents who are interested in what you are teaching their kids.

2) basically, yes. it's annoying, but not a big deal (for you). your co-teachers will think it's huge, but honestly, unless you do something horrible you won't be getting in trouble or getting fired.
