A buddy of mine has a 3 (4?) Canadian College diploma. He is eligible for a position (E2) in a public school.
He was wondering about application strategies. He was wondering if he should apply to a couple of different programs (EPIK, GEPIK), then try to pick one.
For some reason, I think I remember reading/hearing somewhere that this was NOT a good idea.
Does anyone have any advice for him?
Thanks,

The different programs cover different areas. SMOE covers Seoul, GEPIK covers the area around Seoul, and EPIK cover the rest of Korea. So, if he doesn't care at all where he ends up, ya, you can apply to difffernt ones.
The "bad idea" that you remember was talking about sumitting multiple applications through different recruters. Basically, if SMOE sees that you applied for different schools through different people, they think that you are shopping around and if you get a better offer, they think you'll bail. Now, if you apply to SMOE, GEPIK and several hagwons, there won't be any over lap. |

| I'm not sure if it's possible to apply with a college degree... I think you need a university degree. Although, I could be wrong. I think a community college would be the american equivalent but i'm not even sure about that. Anyways... sorry for the unclear and probably unhelpful response. |

is it possible to apply to different programs through different recruiters? eg. I apply to SMOE through one recruiter, and simultaneously apply to EPIK through another recruiter.
would that be bad? I ask because I don't think all recruiters offer all programs. yet I think it is absurd not to apply to more than 1 program given that this year seems more competitive. |

| tigershark is right - your friend needs a Canadian university degree, not a college diploma. He can still get a job here with a college diploma, but he has to apply through TaLK and the pay is mostly terrible. |
