My F-2 expires next month, but my wife and I are currently living in the States at the moment while I go to grad school. I want to maintain my F-2 status to make it easier to go back and forth when we visit, and after I finish my MA in English Ed. we are planning to move back to Korea (since I can get a better job with better pay at a university there). Is it possible to re-new an F-2 overseas? |

This is a question you should ask the Korean embassy or consulate as much advice on this board is incorrect. Also, bear in mind that unless the law has changed, you must return to Korea for at least one day every two years or you lose your F-2 visa. |

I think that's the rule for the F5 isn't it? Some F2s were only issued for a year at a time, I believe if you're out of the country over 1 year you risk losing your F2/6 as its purpose is for you to live in Korea. |
