It's a surprising move that they opened up Dual Citizenship to more than just Korean Adoptee's and foreigners with outstanding talents. Looks like a lot of you here that are married to a Korean will be able to apply for citizenship. Nothing mentioned about compulsory military duties for men though.

I wonder if Japan will follow. They've been thinking about it recently too. |

Here are my questions:
1. If you had to previously renounced your Korean citizenship, would it be a simple matter to get it back? (most gyopos)
2. Would males who have dual citizenship then be required to serve the mandatory military service?

The bill would allow people who meet a certain criteria to have dual nationality, upon the submission of a document pledging loyalty to Korea and vowing not to exercise rights as a foreign national while staying here. |
I'm a little cautious about this. What happens if a war breaks out? Do you think Korea is going to let able bodied Korean citizens to leave the country? |
