WTF??? Could you imagine the U.S paying Lil Wayne to help the "American wave" (who would even come up with a name like that??)

Korea.....the little kid in class who is dying to be popular.

S. Korea announces 200 bln won plan to keep 'Korean Wave' alive

By Shin Hae-in
SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will spend hundreds of billions of won to bolster Korean pop culture's popularity around the world, including funding for production of short dramas, the government said Wednesday.

The popularity of Korean TV dramas in particular swept Asia beginning in the late 1990s, creating the term "Korean Wave" now widely known across Southeast Asia.

You think it's a joke? Do you know how many teenage girls hop a flight to Korea first chance they get because of those dramas?

Sounds more like a government subsidy to keep this particular "export" alive and kicking.

OP: That kid in class who thinks they are saying something smart, but everyone else with a shred of common sense and knowledge knows its utter rubbish.

Sounds like a normal cultural subsidy to me. America doesn't HAVE to pay to keep its pop cultural products exported because it's the top market. Seems similar to Canadian content laws and Canadian cultural subsidies to me. I don't find anything wrong with it.

I remember you, you are the guy who had that STUPID quote, something about a cake....I just remember wagging my head on that one.

You remind me of that kid in class who sat by the teacher, and who actually thought the teacher lived at the school, and then they sent you to that "special" class while all the other students did things like LEARNING.

Hey all, we have another of steelbrains "quotes"

Sorry but I wasn't the only one who thought your post was totally devoid of any depth of thought.

Entertainment is an industry that generates revenue. Korean Entertainment is popular throughout Asia and other countries as well. The government has decided to subsidize it. People with college educations should be able to connect the dots.

Sorry but if there is anyone on this thread that looks like the kid that didn't learn, it's you.

You know its okay to say "I messed up". Clearly you did on this post.

After all I did it with the cake comment.

Here's an idea grunden, instead of constantly looking for ways to make Koreans look bad, why don't you read a book? Heck, just read a wikipedia article on Korean Wave or Government Subsidies.

Do you want to spend your time looking for ways to make other people look stupider or do you want to spend your time improving your own intelligence? It seems you want to do #1.

Mr. Cake man......Yes, the cake comment was stupid.
And that makes us all KNOW you are the kid that did not learn.

My comment was not about 'connecting the dots' but about
LOOKING AT THE PICTURE!
Money is NOT the main motivation cake man.

Thus: my post.

By the way, do you miss sitting next to the teacher??

The extra stuff ends here. If you want trade jabs with each other, find another place to play.

That sounds strange to me. I thought this was one of the exception words to the 1 or 2 syllable = +er guideline. more stupid?
