By water filter do you mean you want to get a Brita jug?

If so, they are called 브리타정수기 in Korean.

I don't know how to translate the second one correctly grammatically, but I would know how to ask the shopkeeper with my good, but not grammatically correct Korean. haha.

filters are generally good for 2 months. You can buy brita brand here. You can also get your co-teacher to order you one off gmarket with replacement filters.
