Hopefully somebody can find an English-speaking article once the media outlets report this. Apparently he died in Beijing this morning (the 31st).
He was a rocket scientist, and US-educated, but the US really screwed up when they purged him during the Red Scare. Guess which country's nascent rocket program he subsequently went to work developing?
