I'm sure this has been posted and answered many times, but I really don't have time to search all the threads. But here goes. I was informed this morning that my Hagwon will be closing tomorrow morning. I was given 1 day notice.
I've been continuously employed at this school for 20 months. So here are my questions.
1. How long am I entitled to stay in the provided apartment
2. Do they owe me my severance for the 8 months I've worked this year.
3. Do they owe me my airfare.
These are the only things I can think of at the moment as I was blind-sided by this news. If there are any other things I'm forgetting please feel free to remind me.
Thanks in advance,

Yeah, you're entitled to 1, 2, and 3. However, your school is going belly-up and getting your entitlement would be next to impossible. You can certainly try though.
Good luck. |

1. Not sure.
2. Depends. If you took the severance at the end of the first 12 months, then no, you aren't entitled to severance. If you didn't take it, then yes, you are entitled to severance pro rated for the 20 months.
3. Again, depends. See above. |
