I read in some tourist magazine or another that there is now a huge 370,000 sq. m. shopping *mall* called Time Square in Yeungdeungpo?
Has anyone been? Is it any good?
I wanna go!! |

It's a nice place. Resembles a nice western style shopping mall, very much like coex.
It's a lot like other Korean shopping areas, but it's got a lot more brand selection I think. |

I've been a couple of times, and it's quite nice. However, it is mostly very expensive brands. I think the cheapest store there is Polham (a hoodie I was checking out there cost 80,000). |

I've been before, and I was there tonight actually.
Nice place to spend an afternoon or evening.
They have a CGV (or whatever the movie company is called), and this one has the world's biggest movie screen in their Starium theatre.
Cool arcade there too...
Good dining... (the second floor, just under the movie theatre) includes a thai, japanese, chinese, korean and italian restaurant. All sit down... nice style to each... the chinese one is big money...the others are just expensive...
There's a nice food court with a lot of choices... also tons of small little vendors thru the mall as per usual.
The mall is filled with tons of cool stores, but as said above, that also brings expensive prices.
For those with luxury tastes, you can find Gucci, Burberry, etc in the one wing of the mall.
There's also a Shinsaegae Department store AND a Lotte Department store.
I don't think the mall is like COEX... Time Square has different levels and feels a lot different because as you walk you can see down to the other floors...it's a nice change. Apparently Time Square is nearing 3 times the size of COEX (based on a newspaper article I read) if you count everything, including the 2 department stores.
Anyways, you should go check it out... just bring your credit card if you plan to do shopping. |

I love that place. I go there a few times a week. Usually I like to sit at the Starbucks and read a book. I also saw Inglourious Basterds there. The theater there is awesome. It is home to the largest movie screen in the world. Also, I like to get a few rounds of Tekken 6 in at the arcade.
They usually hire performers which are mostly alright. They did hire a quartet of Korean bagpipers and it was very hard to listen to.
In terms of food, my friends and I like to frequent On The Border. |

Also, it has a nice import section in the grocery store. I like to buy Goldfish there... although you can also buy them at the Hyundai Dept store which you need to cut through in order to go to Times Square from the station. |

It's really easy. Get off the subway at Yeongdeungpo Station (영등포역). You can get into the 신세계 (could be spelled wrong) department store without exiting the subway. From there, you can enter the mall easily. Of course, you have to exit the turnstiles, but not actually out of the subway. There should be signs to point you the right way inside the subway station.
edited to fix spelling mistake |

Why would they build this in the ghetto? On another note there are some hidden gems in 영등포, best 만두 place is near there. I'm craving some right now >< |

Went today, the location is a bit offputting as its not in the greatest of areas.
But yeah it looks like a American mall. Hot as hell inside, though ive come to expect that in Asian malls.
Overall nice place, but the stores are no different from Myeongdong or anywhere else. The curry place in B1 is good though |
