The adapter plug on my Dell xps m1210 laptop has started to tear out and now it will not power the computer. Does anyone know where I could find an adapter, any that will work, to replace it? Does some place sell Dell computer parts? Would you recommend Yongsan or Gmart? I have a friend coming in about three weeks so I could just have him bring a new cord for me, but I would like to get my computer going before then. Does anyone have any recommendations or maybe even somewhere that I can get my cord fixed. I know that it could be as simple as taping it back together, but so far I have not been able to get it to work and I do not want to fry my computer. Any help is much appreciated!

I have an HP, probably uses a standardized cord. They have a support center in Korea, the phone number is 82-1588-3003. May be worth a phone call.....

Dell has a walk in service centre on the 7th floor of the technomart in Shindorim. Go to Shindorim Station and follow signs to Emart... go to the mall and I am pretty sure it's the 7th floor.

They should be able to help you. They helped me a great deal!

You can go to computer places and just bring the part of your power cord that plugs into the wall, not the part of the cord with the box. I brought mine to technomart, went to the first booth, showed her the cord. Told her I needed a Korean one, and she went and got it for me. I think it was 10k? Maybe less, I bought a new mouse too. Fit perfectly into the other half of my power cord.

I didn't just need a plug, my adapter cord ripped, the part that plugs into the computer. I ended up going to Technomart's Dell center. It cost $50, which is less than back home, but I probably could have still got it for less if I had done some research.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Actually, Dell is not widely available in Korea. Parts are not available from your normal, run of the mill computer shops. When I needed work done on my mini book, my normal tech guy told me to go to their centre because they couldn't carry out the work as they had no parts.
