Is anyone out there with HSBC bank? I was thinking of opening an account with them in Daegu but i have no experience with them in Korea. I had an account back in the UK when i was like, 12.
I just need to know what documents i need to open the account. Whether they are any good. Do they charge to transfer money out of the country.
Has anyone got any idea of other really good banks?
Wow, how boring is this topic BUT i could use some help.
OH and what banks open on Saturdays? Are there any?
Thanks |

Banks don't open on Saturdays.
HSBC used to have a minimum deposit/balance policy - it was 1 million won. I am not sure if it's still the same.
HSBC in Korea hasn't positioned themselves as a high street bank. They are more into corporate banking, which is why they were hoping to take over KEB, but the bid was too hostile and the government stepped in.
If I were you, I would open an account with Standard Chartered Jeil. They give you an international bank card that you can use overseas |
