|
|
They are doing horribly loud construction in Haebangchon, where a lot of us expats live, starting at 7 in the morning. I think this is really unfair to people who happen to work afternoons/evenings/nights and depend on sleeping a little later than seven.
Besides that, I just hate construction. It's the end of the year, and you know they're only doing it to spend the rest of their budget so they get at least an equal budget next year. But this goes beyond having a peaceful morning... this has to do with physical and mental health.
If anyone here has been affected, or even if you have a spare minute or two (not sure if they speak English, but they had signs in English, so they might), please call 710 3405 9 (maybe 9 is the extension...?). They encouraged people to call that number and complain. The city shouldn't decide when we sleep and when we don't. I hear they can't legally start until 9:00, and even that would make a big difference.
Thanks. |

YOU already started a thread on this. ONE topic, ONE thread. |
Yes, in the heat of my anger I found it worth another thread, one with information about how to complain. Sorry if I upset you. |

buy earplugs and stop complaining. Construction hours aren't going to change because alot of foreigners live in the area.
And... how is it unfair? |

I wear earplugs. It doesn't stop the entire apartment from shaking.
I didn't mean to imply that construction hours should change because foreigners live in the area... but I don't speak Korean, and I figure I can reach a lot more people in my area on here, because a lot of foreigners use this website.
It's unfair because in my opinion the city should not decide when you can and cannot sleep. |

That whole neighborhood (Yongsan-gu) is currently being...ahem, gentrified into the most expensive and luxurious sector of Seoul, so I seriously doubt they'll do anything to assist you.
There's even talk of the barely 7 year old apa-tuh buildings in Seobu/Dongbu Ichon-dong (not cheap at ALL) being torn down for luxury units. |

Same here. Fortunately, they're finished with the giant jack hammer machine next to my apartment now. Nothing like a four hour long earthquake every morning starting at 7. I don't think there's really much to be done, though. It would be much appreciated if they started at 9, but I doubt there's much of a way to change this. I don't think it helps that the streets are three feet wide either. |
