My last hagwon fell apart shortly after I began....bankrupt and owner left country.
Have been working at another school for over 6 months and it's also having serious financial problems. They asked me today to work illegally (he used the word) at a kindergarten in order to help pay my salary....I politely said no thank you.
I'm thinking I may be out of a job again. Problem is I must leave Korea in the spring and don't want to sign another 1 year contract but need to save more cash.
So, what's my best option?....
How much of a hassle is it to find short term work (around 3 or 4 months)? Is my only serious option a winter camp then leave?.....If so, possible to change current E2 to a C4 or must cancel E2 and do a visa run to Japan? Don't like the idea of signing a 1 year contract then leaving 5 months into it....but it's an option. |

I'm also really interested in short-term work (3 months).
I have an F-4 visa and already have my ticket booked.
I've talked to a few recruiters and they seem pretty sceptical about the situation so far.
Lets keep each other updated ! |

Same situation ... see this thread:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=169964
I have an offer to stay on for 2 days a week at half my current salary. But given the situation, I think the odds of my particular hagwon staying in business are very slim. I'm looking at options, including winter camps.
What a timely thread!! |
