I know from reading posts last year that you should get your teachers and principal when they give you time off just in case of problems that may arise, but what should it say? My school told me to go ahead and buy my tickets for my winter trip and if we have camps they will schedule them around my time off. I wrote the days down for my co-teacher so she knows, but I think I should also have something that is signed by them, but I'm not sure how formal the letter should be. Should it just say something like DrugstoreCowgirl is on vacation from ___ to ___. and then have them sign below?

Also, I am worried they will be offended if I want them to sign a paper since they already verbally gave me time off, so I'm not really sure what to say when I ask.

This is probably a really stupid question so I am sorry about that Laughing

With Swine Flu being a big scare I'd take a more "don't ask, don't tell "approach. Just ask about the dates of your camp. You can also double check with your school board( KyoyukCheong) in Korean. To make sure they haven't planned anything without contacting you. Once you know you have the time off make your plan.

Well the problem is that my school said "we aren't sure if we're having winter camp this year, so go ahead and buy your tickets". So I did. Then I got an email from the DMOE saying "we don't know if we're having winter camps yet, we'll maybe know in a month, we don't recommend making plans". I paid a lot of money for my vacation already, so since the school already gave me the time off I want them to sign for it in case an issue comes up with the MOE.

They are not sure if they are having a camp because no one has signed up for it yet. There is a period of two weeks before the camp students are invited to sign up. If no one signs up you won't have to do the camp. They can at least give you some idea when it will be so you can make a date for your winter excursion.
