|
|
My contract is coming to an end shortly and one of my schools has asked me to help me find a new native teacher for them since the government has not looked at their application for a new teacher yet. Leaving the school as I want to take a uni job next March. The start date is December 7th.
Anyways, I teach at three high schools but they circulate who is in control of the native teacher. This year I taught three days at one high school and one day each at the other schools. The school that is holding next year's contract is in Chirseo-myeon, Haman-gun while the other two schools are located in Gaya-eup in Gyeongsangnam-do.
The good thing about these schools are that you get a rural allowance and the multiple school allowance. The best thing though is that they are not strict about what time you arrive at the school and what time you leave. There is generally more vacation than other schools in the area (only taught two weeks in summer and had four weeks or so off in winter), since they directly hire their native teacher and two of the schools are private schools. They also offer extra classes at around 30,000 won an hour. They follow the EPIK scale.
The students level varies from absolute beginner to upper beginner-lower intermediate. In some cases, both of those levels are in the same class. Maximum class size is 30 students. In addition, you are generally on your own at two of my schools, one of which will be the main school.
Concerning transportation, Haman is about 25 minutes from Masan and since the native teacher will be living in Chirseo next year, they will be even closer to Masan. If you take the job, you will be living next to the school in a high rise apartment.
I would not be posting anything here but the main school next year has a great co-teacher and I want to help him out. If you have any questions, PM me. |

I'm looking for a good job, but my contract doesn't end until March 1st. If that's not too big an issue you or the school could email me, since I can't pm yet.

I am assuming you are close to Uljin or Hupo. Not really sure where your city is. |
