i have a plane ticket for 4 days before my ARC expiration date. i finish my contract exactly 20 days before i fly out.
so obviously, i am not overstaying my visa or anything like that. it just feels like i am doing something wrong.
do i need to tell immigration anything? in theory, nothing is going to happen at the airport when i leave - i'll surrender my ARC and be on my merry way. so, is there any point?
i'd happily go down to immigration and ask, but seriously, no one needs that headache.
cheers. |

If you ask immigration, it will become an issue. Just enjoy your vacation.
On a non related note. If you have all that free time, why are you spending it in Korea? |

In practical terms - nothing will happen if you enjoy your remaining days and leave before your ARC expiry.
In LEGAL terms you are REQUIRED to inform immigration of any material change in your status (becoming unemployed) within 14 days of said event.
This would entail a trip to immigration and you would be given a 30 day exit order (dated 30 days from the end of your employment).
