|
|
I would be interested to hear if there is anyway at all for an E-2 visa holder to work in two jobs simultaneously. In a perfect world I would like to find a part-time evening hagwon job to run alongside my PS day job.
I have a pretty good feeling though that this isnt a possibility. Would someone be able to clarify this for me? |

your contract states no work outside your job at all and if you work in the public system, you cannot work at a hagwon as an additional workplace, anyway. public school employees can work at an additional public institution, but you still need your current employers consent and immi approval. |

I agree with everything you said but the last three words. You don't need Immigration's approval to work at a second public school. |

if its another public institution or a school outside of your contracted zone, you do. if it's within your POE, technically you do need to add an additional worksite, but immi lets things slide when it comes to POE issues. |

According to Immigration Law, you cannot add a Hagwon onto a Public School. That is, if your primary E2 Visa is with an Elementary School, you CANNOT add an Academy.
You can however, add another Public School as long as you get permssion from your Public School, hightail over to immigration and pay W60 000.
In an ideal situation, your E2 Visa should be with a Hagwon (Primary Work Place). You can then add 2 additional work places as long as they are public institutions and the number of hours you are working does not exceed the hours worked at your Primary Work Place.
Hope this helps you out. |

Technically you have to get permission from Immi to work at a second workplace. I was forced to do so last year and Immi tried to deny my visa for this year (at a new job) b/c of that.
So if you get a jerk (and I sure as fork did), you could be screwed. |

These additional workplaces do not need to be public institutions. They can also be hakwons or companies. |
