|
|
I have an appointment to get my Passport stamped with Visa post-interview next week at the local Korean Consulate in my home state in the US.
Does anyone remember a question(s) that they were asked during their E-2 Visa interview that threw them off?
Any suggestions on preparing for the interview?
Should one try using Korean greetings as to show effort or bow at the Consulate interviewer? Thanks. |

I was asked a series of questions confirming what was on my application, which was sitting right in front of him...
"You went to ______ school?" Yes
"You are applying for an E2 visa?" Yes...
Etc. etc...
Then I was asked why I wanted to go to Korea, and how I would educate Korean children... Whole interview took less than 5 minutes, lol... Biggest waste of time ever... |

By asking this question, I would say you have no worries. I was over-prepared for my interview. All there is to the interview is about 5 minutes of them making sure you don't look too psychotic. Just dress nice, put on a smile, and say "I'm really looking forward to teaching in Korea."
Nothing to worry about. |

It was my first time teaching in Korea and the first visa i'd ever obtained and the Chicago Consulate waived the interview. It was really nice because I didn't have to drive down there and could just mail my stuff. I'm not too sure what distinguishes the need to interview or not. |

Hakwon... I have gone over my honest list of reasons for choosing Korea and feel pretty good about the interview... Modern, safe, enjoy the food... embellished truths. |

Well Proopser, that's the first first-time hagwon hire I've heard of that didn't require an in-person interview for their visa. Congratulations.
A public school will verify your educational credentials and send you an official Notice of Appointment. Those are only the ones I've ever heard the consulate waive the interview for and do it by mail. |
