I'm sure this has been covered, but why not do it again as we are approaching the point when employers start asking...

My particular situation is that I am the first foreign teacher to work here, so the staff (as helpful as they may be) do not know the process very well.
The contract was consulted but it was in Korean. It was translated to say that I get two weeks vacation to go home and get my new visa sorted, BUT I can't miss class time. Is this normal or even possible? Can I get a new visa before my current one has run out? (they would like me to go during winter vacation, for the two weeks we just sit in the office)

Thoughts? Suggestions? Predictions on lotto numbers?

I've also been in the "consulting phase" as far as re-enlisting is concerned Laughing

Funny thing, I was informed of everything entitled to me (extra 2 weeks vacation, 2 million won bonus) however these details were "forgotten" and they needed to be "researched" when I asked about it. Rolling Eyes

You should get an extra two weeks in addition to what you didn't use in the summer

Visa renewal should be able to be done in country. Did you get a stamp for multiple-entry after coming here? You would go there for renewing your visa & ARC. Don't take my word for it. Call 1345

Also, about the 2 million won or an economy class flight ticket paid for can anyone confirm which is accurate? I wouldn't want to ask for a ticket, then get told that since it is
above 2 million won, won't count for me Rolling Eyes

Edit: by 2 weeks, I mean ten working days

Well, you get your contract bonus AND a return flight home right? You just have the option if you actually do want to go home.

Anyone that knows anything about the above stated questions, let us know!

Wouldn't you dial "737446464" for re-signing?

solocanuck:
I was told that if you want to take a trip anywhere, (Amsterdam, Syria, Somalia) the school will pay for that.

The ten business days I mentioned earlier is given as 14 calendar days extra vacation in my contract

Also, has your school been closed at all? This time will have to be "made up" during what would otherwise be deskwarming time or camp time. Regular deskwarming/ camp time, you are free to go wherever. Laughing
