Hello all! I will be leaving for Seoul in the end of February and was wondering if there were particular items that I should bring from the US... I'm talkin' pillows, sheets, pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc? Thanks!

If you know the size of the bed you will soon be sleeping in, then bring sheets. They're expensive and not always easy to find in Korea. Bring clothes to carry you through all four distinct seasons in Korea. If you cook, bring a spice kit. While deodorant can be easily found, it is still cheaper in the USA, so I'd bring a few sticks along. Also, if you have some favorite over-the-counter meds, bring 'em. Other than those things, everything else is pretty easy to find and reasonably priced.

Homeplus has reasonably priced sheets and bedding.

In fact, homeplus has most things you need.

spices are a great idea, and if there are any little snacks you really cannot do without, i would ask here if they are available.

i always load up on meds, like tylenol, nyquil, etc. deoderant is a must.

someone said mace... if you are a girl and a bit worried about walking around at night, that is actually good.

Most spices could be found at the Indian grocers in Itaewon or Ansan. I would bring any meds considering this is the flu/cold season. They're light too.

i guess it depends where you are going to

if you live in the city, i guess some of these things are easy to get, out in the woods is a different story.

someone said deoderant is easy to find, i have only seen it twice three times in several years.

I've seen it at the Red Door store in Itaewon, Foreign Market in Itaewon, Hannam Market near Hangangjin station, I Love Cookie in Noksapyeong and Jeongja (Bundang), Myeon-dong (near Gap and Uni-glo), Namdaemun import market, Watson's, Olive Young, and the occasional upscale department store.

Bring a pot. A converter if you're gonna bring electronics. Boxes of MacNcheese or poptarts if you think you'll miss that stuff.

A pot?!? Really? Don't. Kitchenware is cheap if you go to Namdaemun or any other local market.

Check the converter that comes with your electronic devices. Chances are that it's rated to 240volts which means you don't need a converter, just an adapter. You can buy the conversion kit from an REI or travel shop in USA for $20 or $30; or, you can wait until you get to Korea and pick up a converter at a hardware shop or electronics market for 500won or 1,000won. Your choice.

Just the name of a shop that sells overpriced Western goodies (they have oreo's if those kind of cookies do it for you). There's one in Noksapyeong and one on Cafe street in Jeongja-dong of Bundang.
