Why does it that almost every women I talk to have the overburdening need to reassured of their looks? (Or some other emotional issue)

Why you gotta have me try to elate you level, when clearly Tyra Banks blows you clear out of the water. You will always be a 6 of out of 10. You won't be more, you won't be less. ACCEPT IT and stop F***ing asking me everyday.

ARG! I swear if my girlfriend asks me any redundant already answered 550 times questions like :

"What you don't think I look pretty?"

Or "How am I perfect?"

or "Why do you like me?"

I'll be well on my way to homo hill

The short answer is because so many men, who are themselves a 5 at best believe they're entitled to nothing less than a date with a 10, and mock the 9s for having wrinkly knees or something. I know it's not all guys, but the ones that do this kind of thing tend to be very, very vocal about their views.

You need a subtitle:

A man who stays in Korea blaming people smell like Kimchi...

What are women who are 9s doing letting men who are 5s impact their self-esteem in such a way?

This.

Goku, every time she starts up on the "am I pretty" trump her with some anger at how society expects people to conform to some nearly unachievable ideal and then start in on the current woes of being a man.

Ok, this belongs on a different thread, but btw eating disorders for men and women are currently on par. So many attractive guys I know are commenting on their uncut bodies and looking to unhealthy means to get that model perfect body. Usually this is with the younger guys, but doubtlessly the pressure is being felt across the board. The language they use to talk about it is more subtle than women, but it is changing and becoming more open.

And your magazines! I'm not sure what it was, but some ripped guy was walking by with some plastic goddess, and the cover (the cover) read "this is what she wants". It's an interesting formula. Convince mankind they want megan fox, then convince them megan fox wants them to go to drastic and expensive measures to fill out some impossible cookie cutter form.

Fact is, the formula for women is a little different. Our magazines convince us if we want anyone we had better become megan fox, and use expensive means to do so. Chill, guys, women standards aren't as high as your magazines make them out to be.

Anyone basing their life around what they read in magazines deserves what they get. I'm always hearing about how the media pushes this stuff on women, but the only reason the media produces it is because it sells, and sells well.

It's not the media's fault girl x reads magazines and then feels deficient, it's girl x's fault. Girl x needs to stop paying people to produce a product that makes her feel bad about herself. Girl x needs to take responsibility for her own self-esteem, her own body image, and her own damn life.

The diatribe was criticizing men's magazines, and noting the increasing problem men have with body image. Girls were a footer. This is a wonderful self-education moment for you Foxnews- you get to learn how you distort the truth by focusing on insignificant details to enhance a larger ideological framework. It couldn't have happened to a more appropriate avatar.

Dude listen to me....she is just expressing what so many chicks want to say. Chicks love and need assurance - I mean constantly. If I were you man I would lavish it on her big time. She has a need. OK to you and I it may seem childish, trivial etc etc but ya figure all chicks are weird anyway so just pour on the compliments. Tell her what she wants to hear over and over. Take her in your arms and look right into her eyes with love and just say it over and over sweetly and gently. Aw man she'll melt like butter on a hot stove. Ya figure no other guy would do even 10% of what you do. You do that man she's yours.....and the thought of losing you?.........man a chick with that kind of support and attention will do anything for ya.

Yes, Goku, yes... Feel the hatred festering inside of you.

Seriously, though, don't be such a bore. You should consider yourself very fortunate to be dating anyone at all, much less someone with a few annoying ticks.

I swear, some of you folks sound like you came from fairy tale land. This is how people are. There are many people in the world. There are many who auditioned for Jerry Springer. You will meet these people. You will learn when to notice the red flags.

Or... You can become bitter and hate women. I've been down that road. I've hated women since high school. They were far meaner than the men.

But you grow out of it. Move on.

A little help... find and point out the flaws in these magazine "idols"... Megan Fox has ugly thumbs... stubby and a deal breaker in my warped opinion... feet and hands guy I guess... looking for breeding potential right??? You must be, but I completely understand how constant reassurance kills your will to live... damn insecurities.

Goku, you are going out with a Korean woman where they are battered from birth for being fat, ugly etc - parents, grandparents, teachers, classmates batter their self esteem like a lumphammer from the off.

You are living in a parochial society where the older man is king and young women are between dogs and waygooks on the confucian scale of importance.

You are going out with her - do you really think she is a '6' Course you don't - you are being a tit (as usual) and I bet any money that you are nothing to look at either.

You could solve this by going out with an American woman - the majority of which, don't have the same self esteem issues as their Korean sisters.

Stop thinking about your dick for 5 minutes and think of her as a friend who needs help. If you love her you will help her. The world does not revolve around you.
