The other day I thought I would ride my bike into Seoul.
Now I live in Ilsan so this is not a easy task since I knew that I would have to contend with Odang stands, immobile natives, Ajummas selling veggies, parked cars on the sidewalks, loooong red lights, Mt-Everest-high curbs and those ever so friendly drivers to name but the obvious. There were also the under-construction sidewalks, sidewalks that narrowed in a serious way, or no sidewalks at all.
So this is my question: are there any bicycle paths that go to Seoul from Ilsan?
Yeah, I know that Korea is rapidly evolving country and they will, in time, appear where they are needed. But-whatabout-now!!!
BTW, the ride ended up taking me about 3.5 hours return, but this was only because I reached a tunnel which was impassable and/or suicidal to attempt.
Is there a map that guides riders around Seoul?
Thanks. |

I ride a bike and love it. But not in Seoul.
If you value your life dont ride a bike in Seoul. You only have to look at the traffic. Please dont do it! You may die.
Only ride a bicycle if you have a huge fu*K of machine gun on the front and a rocket launcher on the back. And even then ????????
I want to buy a decent motorbike soon. I'll buy all the leathers and a big foff(?) pair of boots. All the same I dont want to be run down by some soju nutter.
Be safe. Bikes are for Han river park or other safe areas in Korea. Dont die please.
Be careful. |

A bike here is for exercise, not transportation. |

My hat's off to you. I lived in Ilsan and that would be one hell of a ride (distance and obstacles).
Why don't you try heading east (i think it is) of Ilsan. Beautiful mountain area over there. |
