what's the consensus on field trips with middle school kids here? it looks like my camp will be 3 weeks with the same kids, so i thought a field trip would be a nice break in the second week.

has anyone done this? if so, where? i was thinking of a free admission museum in seoul and have the kids complete an English worksheet on a specific gallery (they cannot leave the gallery without me). what do you think should be the max number of students for this? they will be first grade of middle school.

Sounds like a great idea and good way to make positive use of time on a long winter camp, but, unless you ahve a Korean teacher with you it might prove to be a difficult and stressful day for you. Just a thought, good luck though if you do it.

I've taken my grade 1 (and 2) boys on a hike up a mountain (close to the school); and also for a walk to the supermarket to do some shopping exercises. I had no K to help... but we all made it back alive. Laughing

It has varied from six to fourteen.

When the principal first asked to see my daily plans for 'camp', I just wrote -
Field Trip - XXXXX XXXX

I was leery at first because I know in Canada, taking students off the school grounds would involve permission from the parents and insurance etc. I was half expecting to be told I couldn't do it... but the Ks just told me "it looks good"... so now, every camp has a 'Field Trip Day'.
