By relevant, I mean interesting, not the technical Seoul city border.
I want a job that's in or close to Seoul, and Incheon appears to be pretty close, however, anything over an hour by train I really don't think I'd be interested in. Is it under an hour? Thanks. |

depends what part of Incheon you live in.
If you're in Bupyeong, then you can get to Yongsan on the rapid subway in about half an hour. If you live where i live (Yeonsu) then into the centre of Seoul is at least an hour on the subway, or about the same on a bus if the traffic is OK (which it usually isnt). A bus to Gangnam (the heart of Southern Seoul) is about an hour too.
If you are planning on going to Seoul a lot, I would say just move there, or somewhere closer (maybe Bucheon, Ilsan or Seongnam)
The area I live in is good for some things, but there's no denying whenever I need/want to get into Seoul its a pain in the ass having to travel for so long. |

Incheon is actually bigger than Seoul in area, so it really does depend. Bupyeong is the most accessible to Seoul by subway (and has the most nightlife and entertainment). However Gyeyang-Gu where I live also isn't a horrible bus ride, but the traffic is really unpredictable. I have gotten to Hongdae in as little as 30 minutes by bus, but I have also had it take over an hour and a half. If you get stuck somewhere like Seo-Gu or down by Songdo, you'd might as well take a job in Daejeon if getting into Seoul is important to you. Hongdae is the closest relevant part of Seoul, but getting to Itaewon and Gangnam is a bit more of a hike. Getting into Seoul for the day on the weekends is no problem, but staying out late in Seoul is a real pain in the ass. You have to leave the bar by 11 to be sure of getting the last bus/subway home, cabs are expensive, and if you wait for the subway to start up again you won't be in bed till 7 in the morning at least. |

I am a huge nightlife guy so I plan on going to Seoul for a lot of weekends, it sounds like a bit of a drag since the whole leave by 11 or stay all night dilemma.
Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it. |
