So my friend and I asked our manager at the hagwon when our winter vacation was, and he replied our school didn't have a winter vacation. We stated that our contract listed the vacation time. This ended up in a meeting with our won jong nim, who told us that he could give us 2 days vacation next week, but couldn't guarantee the other 3. We simply said it was unacceptable. He replied that it was all he could offer, and if we weren't willing to accept it, he'd let us go by the end of the month.

We were nonchalant and said that's fine and that he should speak to our recruiter. We're only 7 1/2 months into our contract. Does this seem reasonable on their behalf to terminate us? We simply want our vacation days, especially since we've steadily received more classes over the past few months.

Our recruiter said he could get us another job, nevertheless. Does is seem like a good move to hold our ground and get fired? I was wondering what some of ya'll thought out there.

You did the right thing.

Watch the fool come squirming back trying to stop you from leaving. He said he'd let you go cos he wants to test wheter you've got balls or not. You're playing the right game. Once he really thinks that he's going to lose some teachers then he's gonna step back and ask you to stay.

Be pleasant throught it all, make sure nobody loses face and i'm sure things will be better after he asks you to stay.
