I'm wanting to upgrade to an LX3, but can't unless I sell this to offset the cost. The FX-07 came out in Fall 2006. Both myself and the previous owner took great care of it. It is never out of the case unless it's being used, and I've dropped it 2 times, both from a height of less than 1 foot (I always use the wrist strap, too). About 5 months ago it stopped zooming, but I fixed it by resetting it to factory defaults and otherwise have had no problems. It's a great camera for a beginner, or slightly more than beginner. This is the first and only camera that I've owned and can now say I'll never buy anything other than Panasonic. I've taken about 20,000 photos in the couple of years I've had it.
To see some of the quality of the photos, and some photos of the camera itself (taken from my phone), check out these photo albums: <http://picasaweb.google.com/jmphry>. The best examples is probably the Lantern Festival. These photos were taken in April at the lantern festival in Seoul. There's a wide range of photos there, from low-light to midday, macro, zoomed, colorful, muted colors, action shots at night, indoors, and outdoors. The others are from me hiking a couple different mountains around Seoul, feel free to peruse but it's a little weird that you want to stalk me, but whatever.
You can read some reviews on this site: <http://www.dpreview.com/news/0607/06071903panasonicfx50.asp>. In short, it's a compact camera with a wide 28mm-102mm equivalent lens. By lowering the megapixels count (2-3 is more than enough for nearly anyone), you can get more optical zoom out of the camera, up to 5.5, which is a HUGE help in getting those faraway shots. It has 2 levels of optical image stabilization, the incredible Leica lens (standard on all Panasonic Lumix cameras), shoots 640x480 @ 30fps, has about 20 different scene modes, continuous shooting (great because I can choose the one shot I like, and delete the other 2 or 3).
I'm located in Ori, about 40 minutes south of Gangnam. I'm willing to post it, and am willing to met in southern Seoul on the weekends. If I post it, I am also willing to take returns if you're unsatisfied in any way.
Included:
-Camera (duh)
-1 battery with American charger (only needs a converter, not transformer). The battery will last for 300-400 shots, and I've never maxed it out on a video but I've taken over 30 minutes of video and still had (guessing) 10-15 minutes left.
-Soft carrying case that has a loop to put your belt, etc, through
-1gb class 6 Panasonic SD card (good for almost 1000 shots on 2M, which is what I always use).
-Wrist strap (I know, a deal breaker).
I had no intention of parting with this when I came to Korea, so I don't have the user manual or software CD (who uses the included software these days, really?). Sorry if I left anything out, just ask me in the replies. I'm pretty firm at W100,000, but feel free to say how your mother's dog's uncle got one for a buck and a bottle and insult my offer, myself, my mother, and my mother's dog. It's going for about $100 on amazon, used, and I know this thing is in good condition for a 3-year-old P&S. Feel free to PM or email at [email protected]
