I know you get reimbursed for the flight, but I thought that your recruiter is supposed to book the flight and pay for it and then your school will reimburse the recruiter.
Am I wrong here?
Or is the teacher (myself) supposed to front the money for the one-way ticket to Korea and the recruiter doesn't have to put any money down? |

I'm having to pay for mine and will be reimbursed after the first month of working. I've not heard of a recruitment agency paying for the ticket - unless anyone else can correct me on this? Did the recruiter say they will pay? |

I had to book my own and I don't think I've met anyone who hasn't. |

At my first hogwan, the recruiter bought the ticket and the employer paid them back. My final return ticket was bought by the employer.
At my second hogwan my employer bought all the tickets. I didn't have to do anything.
At my current public school job I had to buy the ticket and was reimbursed after I arrived.
I wasn't too worried about being reimbursed by a public school (although from what we've seen with the recent SMOE debacle there is cause for concern), but I think I would use extreme caution when buying a ticket for a hogwan job. Most will pay you back, but there are quite a few who will give you a hard time, make you wait a ridiculous amount of time or simply not pay you at all. |
