No school tomorrow, so I want to take the GF to Busan for a decent lunch. I want to take her to a proper restaurant with a proper chef. We live in Changwon and there are literally no restaurants here. Sure there are plenty of great places to eat, but there aren't any of what I would consider real restaurants. eg original dishes created and cooked by a competent chef.

So what can you recommend in Busan? It can be expensive. The more up market the better.

Cheers in advance.

Took a lady, well, she took me to a nice Italian place called "The Kitchen" or maybe "Italian Kitchen".

It's in Haeundae, on Dalmajigil Hill. Sorry, that's maybe the wrong spelling.

It's a classy place, above an art gallery, with good sea views. It's on the lower part of the hill on the Haeundae Beach side, not the Songjeong Beach side.

Not 100% sure if they do lunch though.

Bon appetit.

Do they have a good selection of wines? There is a 9 out 10 (it's as good as NZ Italian food) place 5 mins from my house but they only serve wineaid. No wine. WTF?

If you really want to impress her there's an excellent Italian restaurant at the top of the Lotte Tower, great views over the city. Cost me 180,000 won for two, with wine

^ Hey big spender.

Found this address "Highlights include the Korea Art Centre (1502-2 Joong Dong, Haeundae gu, phone + 82 51 742 7799, http://www.koreaartcenter.co.kr), a glamorous architect-designed building covering several storeys. Take in the cutting-edge exhibitions, then head upstairs and refresh yourself with a bite to eat in the Italian restaurant, or just a drink in the wine bar, both of which have stunning sea views."

Mains are around 28,000 won from memory, didn't select a wine on that evening to complement my meal as it was a weeknight, but there is a good possibility the place can satiate your alcoholic demands.

Also it's a good area to grab a dessert and coffee in one of the nicely positioned cafes on the hill.

the movie place in shinsegae is pretty good. and you get to watch a movie while you're eating. it'll probably run you about 60-80 for two, about three courses each. the servings are really small though.

Pasta Factory in Kyungsung-Dae--very affordable and tasty pasta, not like what most of the merigane eat.
