My wife sent me a few family photos from the Philippines of our daughter, her and I but when I went to open it it read:
OPENED & RESEALED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CUSTOMS REGULATIONS.
Do they open all incoming mail that you receive in Korea? |

never happened to me.
Actually that's a lie three years ago my DHL couriered sealed transcripts were opened, twice.
Other than that it has never happened to me, hell even last month my folks sent be a package with my ski jacket and food and stuff, and the put a $900 value on it, wasn't opened.
I think it is luck of the draw, plus what country it is being sent from |

I've had a number of packages opened by customs while I've been here. I have to imagine it's pretty common. Guess I'll tell my pals in Colombia to hold off on that care package. |

| Back when I first lived here in '84, every letter I received from overseas was opened and sloppily retaped. There was no message attached to say why they were opened, but the message was still, nonetheless, clear: Watch what you say about our dictatorship (Chun Doo-hwan). In the past twenty years, I've had almost nothing opened. |

Just an overzealous mail drone looking to find something that wasn't there. |

Back in the 90s, it wasn't letters. A guy I know who had a subscription for National Geographic and every magazine came back like somebody went through it. The seal was torn, pages ripped some places, and wrinkled all over the place.
But don't worry, it's all for your protection. Who needs privacy anyway? |

| For some reason, whenever friends back home send stuff through UPS, it it is always searched, resulting in 1-2 weeks of delay. Also, whenever I have to buy a book from the States for my online Masters class, they open the package, possibly looking for illegal books? Who knows. |
