This might belong in the general forum, but how many other people's schools are like this? When I go to use the teachers restroom, and I need to drop some kids off at the pool, the toilet paper is conveniently located by the entrance door, next to the hand dryer. It is a giant dispenser and almost impossible to remove more than two or three squares of the cheap butt wiping material at a time. I know it is like this as my wife's school as well.
What is the deal? It seems wasteful to me, since I have to stock up before I commit to the act, and I don't want want to gamble on how much I need. Some days its only a couple squares, but I bring in a fist full of paper, in case I get caught with a double(where you think you are done, then wipe, then find out there is more on the way) or just a real messy one. I don't want to have to go back for seconds with my pants around my ankles, especially since the entrance door is transparent.
I wont use the space aged toilet seat of the future, because I don't know what the buttons do. I pushed one once(on my first day of work) and got blasted in the crotch by a 3 foot spray of water, it wouldn't stop until I pulled the 220 volt plug out of the wall while standing in half an inch of water. Of course I did not say anything to anyone, but I know they know I did it. |

I did the same thing, but I jumped out of the way and the water hit the door. |

Most schools keep the toilet paper in the Kyomoshil( Teachers room). Each teacher has a roll at their desk. Students frequently ask for paper Hyugie Chuseayo( can I please have toilet paper). We have a private teachers toilet with a bidet which I use. |

If you know how to use them they are awesome. Great for those "day after" drinking runs. I think that's why they install them. |

We have no teacher's bathroom. We have only squat toilets. The students frequently miss. The tp is also outside of the stalls. |

we have no teachers bathroom, no toilet paper in the bathroom, and all squatters. however in response to the cleanliness, when it comes to public bathrooms i'd much rather use a squatter than a western style toilet any day |

Hear Hear,
It's bloody frustrating that every time I have to go, I get deterred by a student screaming a bloody murder "HELLO!" as bright as sunshine just before going or the total absence of anything to clean my butt after the deed is done.
I just hold it in until I get home like an elementary school boy. |

When I worked at a hagwon in Daechi (richest part of Seoul, allegedly) all the adult staff had to share the restroom with all of our students (children 7 and under). Not just unprofessional, but also impractical. Luckily the Pizza Hut downstairs had a crapper for us to use. Also a great place to catch a smoke break at the same time, right under the "no smoking" sign.
This was the same place that made a greenhouse into my homeroom. My kids were positively melting by 10 AM starting in May.
I still can't understand the purpose of those little wastecans next to the toilet. We're supposed to put used toilet paper in there because the pipes get clogged or because Seoul's sewage treatment plants can deal with the paper? I'm no clean-freak, but I just can't bring myself to use it...that's too unsavory even for me. |

God I hope not! I would never do that. I am sorry but my school is just going to have an on-site plumber because I am flushing my poo-paper. |

You have a hand dryer? We have to use our pants as a towel at my mine. |

Oooo! We have a hand dryer! It blows out cold air about as hard as normal respiration. No one uses it because it take 5 minutes or more to get near dry hands. I think air drying may be quicker. |

What 'kills' me is not the four - never flushed - squats in the men's room at my school... but the full-length (floor to ceiling) picture windows next to the urinals facing the parking lot at some expressway rest stops.
I guess that's why some drunken adjoshies have no problem whipping it out to take a leak on the sidewalk of a busy street at the bus stop in front of a gaggle of high school girls. |
