I was told for the past 2 weeks that I would have a 4 day weekend with Thursday off for the SAT and Friday off for nothing. Yesterday I was told I would have to come in and desk warm.

There are 4 teachers here (normally 50).

What are you doing while desk warming?

Arrested Development for me.

I'm at home. I was told to write a one page summary of self study focus on teaching my students. A kind of reflection. I went home early yesterday, too.

Geez. How stupid is that? Are you actually going to do it? I wouldn't.

Me too... waisting my time posting on 'Dave's', drinking maek-jju and smoking cigarettes.

Was just told that I can go home since I ate lunch. The principal saw my face, so at least he knows I am alive. Brought everyone donuts too, need to get the butt kissing in before I ask to teach at a camp.

A 3.5 day weekend is good enough for me!

I just finished a late dinner... should I ask for next week off?

Have fun. I wish I could join you but unfortunately I'll be in Bali.

I will work a camp making 3.5 million (plus my school salary) then have 2 weeks in Damascus. I have no complaints.

I think SAT's is a poor analogy that Koreans use. If you ask a Korean, they'll decribe the test "like the SAT's". Its completely different.

You can take the SAT's multiple times, and you can pick the times you want to take it. The highest scores from each section on the test are taken. Doing bad on the SAT's won't kill your chances of getting into the University of your choice as long as your grades are good.

The Korean test can only be taken once a year. Everyone takes it at the same time. The scores are more important than your grades. People who do bad on the test don't wait a few months to retest. They commit suicide.

Damn. At school today and I'm freezing my ass off. Going to eat lunch then go skive off to a coffee shop where it's warm. Hopefully they won't notice I'm gone for a while.
