The USO organizes them. Call 0505-724-7781 to make a reservation. $70 for a day tour. A couple of tour companies run them, too. I think Seoul City Tour has one.
For the most part, all DMZ and Panmunjom tours are the same. Once your bus arrives at Camp Bonifas, the UN command and the US/ROK military kind of run the show. Also, because of the tight security, tours are very limited in where they can take you. They all go to exactly the same places. As far as I know, the main differences are amenities: some of them include lunch, some of them take you up in a deluxe coach, some offer hotel pick-up- things like that. If you want to go to Panmunjom/JSA, make sure your tour includes that (I think Adventure Korea's tour does not, but I'm not 100% sure- check their website). A lot of those cheaper half-day tours don't go to Panmunjom, so double check before you book.
Overall though, I'd say the DMZ is well worth a visit regardless of what tour company takes you up there. |

also you could try http://www.tourdmz.com/english
they do combined tours of DMZ and Panmunjom, its more expensive than USO but your get free lunch and I would say their tours give a more un-biased view of goings on up there. USO tour is better for military info though, as once you get to Camp Bonifas US soldiers take over from the Korean guides.
Whatever tour you go on....make sure you actually go into the DMZ itself (JSA/Panmunjom). I would say it's the highlight. |

Don't expect to see the North Korean soldiers looking in the blue buildings at the demarcation line like you hear about and see in all the pictures. That only happens during important events. You might want to bring money to buy North Korean won at the shop thats in Panmunjeon. |
