Then there's this board dedicated to the AR-15 rifle:

Firearms enthusiasts are by far and large one of the largest internet communities on the web.
This shouldn't be too surprising. Firearms culture is huge and diverse. There are at least 80-90 million sportsmen (and women) in just The USA. There are millions more in Canada, and millions more in Europe.
Gun culture covers science, art, athletics, history, and politics. Especially in The States, guns are an integral part of history and culture. It is also economically a major force, employing millions of people from the corporate world, to manufacturing, to highly skilled artisans, to the cottage industry. From apparel, wildlife calls, binoculars, holsters and leather belts, custom parts and accessories, to wildcatting (making wholly new cartridges), gun culture is enormous and therefore there is a whole lot to be talked about.
You can go to just about any hobbyists webforum, from lovers of the Honda Civic to scrapbooking, and you will find people discussing firearms.
Comparatively, Dave's ESL Cafe is a mouse fart in a hurricane. |

There are Dave's posters registered on that site. Don't ask me how I know that. |

so does the fact that guns aren't readily available in south korea predispose this forum to have a lower number of posters? |

No surprise there, but I'd rather see them online than toting their pistols in downtown shopping malls. |

How delightfully ironic. The "second-wave" grassroots movement that is taking the .gov to school at the moment is largely thanks to the internet.
And statistically speaking, in America, if you go somewhere with 100 or more people nearby, at least one of them is legally carrying a gun. And the real sticker that will make your indoctrinated noodle wig out...
NO ONE DIED BECAUSE OF IT |

I once saw a bumper sticker that said guns kill people like spoons make rosie o'donnell fat. I'm not at all into guns but even I thought that was pretty funny. |

People who blame inanimate objects for human choices = the ultimate of tools. And sacrificing virgins to the volcano gods prevents typhoons, too! |

Just watched "Last of the Mohicans" and thought of you. (The muskets they used in the movie were actually made of rubber to lighten the actor's load!)
I once read one of your posts on another site, and read this interesting Wiki article about muskets. |
