I don't know man.. I think vera had him for sure..
but like coture said, sometimes you dont know what the judges are looking for...

I was a little surprised as well, but it really could have gone either way. Like they said, Coture controlled the fight while Vera had the edge in damage (which wasn't all that much other than the kick).
I've definately seen worse calls by the judges. |

| I thought Vera had the edge and was surprised that Randy had such trouble getting a take down but he stuck to his game plan, |

| I don't think he was robbed at all. Tough match to call, but I'd say randy did better. |

| I think it was more of a split decision than anything. Couture controlled the whole fight but Vera landed two good shots. Unfortunately, neither did a lot of damage in the long run. How do you decide that? That's why I say it should have been a spit decision. Can that happen in MMA? |

Its very rare to have a draw because of the point system used by the judges. They award the winner of the round 9 points and the loser 10 points so someone almost amways comes out ahead. There was a draw when Ortiz and Griffin fought because Ortiz kept grabbing the fence and got a point taken away. They can also score a round 10-8 if one fighter really dominates the other but it doesn't happen very often. |

I was totally with the judges on this one. I watched those kicks too, but I also saw Coture setting the pace and place of the fight.
It was a close match, and I can see why people sided with Vera, but I really think Coture had control for the majority of the match. If Vera wants to feel robbed he should have upped the pace. |
