I want to switch to a tourist visa next month.
I have a one way plane ticket to Fukuoka. Is it better to return in the same day? I dont want to spend a lot of money on a hotel.
If I have to stay over night is it possible to just stay in the airport?
Will immigration give me trouble on just a one way ticket coming back to Korea?
Thanks in advance.

Also is it cheaper for me to book a plane ticket back to Korea or to go to the ferry and take the ferry back?
Is the ferry port far from the airport? How much does it cost by taxi?

You are aware that a one-way ticket to anywhere (here, japan, elsewhere) based on a visa waiver stamp (as compared to a real visa) may very well find you denied boarding by the agent at the airport (NOT by immigration at your destination).

The airline is responsible and gets the fine and penalties if there is any problem with your entry so the boarding agent is the one who checks for your onward/return passage (a requirement in ALL CASES for visa waiver entry).

Take the ferry both ways and avoid the hassle. Otherwise you will need an exit ticket (ferry or flight) from Japan to GET to Fukuoka

AND

you will need an exit ticket from Korea to fly back here.

Really? My plane ticket is to Fukuoka.... hm.

I know about the round trip ticket. I've never had a problem with it. But thanks for the warning. I am considering getting another ticket just to be sure I have it (just in case) ^^

I think I'll just get another plane ticket. I've had the ticket for a year and its about to expire. I dont wanna waste that much money.
