Hi folks.
I'm starting to panic a little, I have a job in Daegu which I'm supposed to start on the 27th of this month. I sent my documents to my recruiter which he recieved 4 weeks ago and after a few unreplied emails he wrote back this morning to say it will take another week to get my visa issuance number! Should I be worried?
Also, a friend of mine also sent her documents at the same time as me and she got her number a couple of weeks ago, has her passport stamped and is good to go!
Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated! |

Don't panic. Doesn't matter if not enough time. You will be late, but it will take them 2 months to find another applicant. Mismanagement is how things work, in every aspect of this game. Just be ready for things to not be as you expected. Keep reading the message boards, these people are good people and they will help you. |

I am experiencing something similar. I signed a contract from October 20. I was certain, I'd be in Korea by now. However, that is not the case. I'm still here and waiting for my visa number. It is rather unfair and very unprofessional. There is nothing to do, but call the recruiter weekly or in my case, it will be every other day. |

It will work out.
If the recruiter says everything is moving along then don't worry. If you're late by a week or whatever it will be their problem not yours.
Be patient. You're at the most stressful part of this entire gig. Getting the documents, a million emails, lots of waiting. But you'll be here soon enough. |

I had a similar issue, but it all worked out. It's because they want your visa to be issued as close to when the teacher prior to you is leaving. So they get you for the maxium amount of time.
It'll all work out. |

Thanks everyone, you have managed to scale down my freak out. Hopefully I'll hear something soon.
Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their visa numbers![/quote] |
