Personally I think indecent exposure laws are questionable at best, but I fail to see how this lunatic woman remotely has a case. As far as I can see, she was trespassing on his property extremely early in the morning and, while looking through his window, saw him naked. If anything, it seems to me like a case could be made for her invading his privacy.
What irritates me most about this case is that if it had been a woman naked in her own home, no one would be saying things like, "She wanted to be seen." If you see a woman naked, it's treated as if you somehow violated her, but if you see a man naked, he's somehow violated you? Ridiculous. |

| The woman should be charged for tresspassing and also child abuse for putting her daughter in such a position. She took her child illegally onto another person's private property. |

This could have gone on the America's unjust sex laws thread.
Anyway, it is ridiculous. Many people are naked at home. Will people next be required to wear swimsuits in the shower? Sound far-fetched? I have actually seen guys at the gym showering in their underwear!
I recall another case from a few years back in which a couple was found liable because someone saw them having sex between cracks in the blinds which apparently did not close 100%
What would happen if this woman's daughter or son had gone to a jimjilbang?
And you are right, Fox: why has the woman not been charged with trespassing?
And I disagree with the man's defense: instead of the pedophile-denial tack (I'd never do that to a child!"), he should take the privacy tack ("A man's home is his castle.") Apparently the child sex abuse witchhunt pressure nowadays is so overwhelming that people are terrified that anyone might think otherwise. |

This reminds me of my old gym back in America. In the men's changing room, fathers often brought their sons in. There were, of course, naked men in there, either because they were changing clothes or because they were showering. We all (I think) consider that acceptable and reasonable enough, so how can we not hold private residences to at least the same standard?
If my son saw you naked in a gym changing room, could I sue you? I actually don't know the law regarding this. I would think no, but then again, I would think this woman's complaint would be laughed at by the police as well, so clearly what I think isn't necessarily a good indicator of the law. |

| If convicted, I wonder if the man will go on the sex offender registry as a dangerous predatory pedophile. (Maybe that is what he had in mind when he issued his denial.) |

The woman has a different story. It was 8:40 and they were taking a popular path to school. And apparently it was her son and not her daughter. Additionally they first saw him in his car park, not the kitchen.

I can't believe the guy was stupid enough to be naked in his own home like that. Where did this man think he was, a free country? Since this happened in America, we should thank our stormtroopers for liberating this man and his home.
Sarcasm aside, those cops seem to be trying their best to win a Darwin Award, invading a home like that and barging into a man's bedroom when he's asleep. That's a very good way to get your ass shot off, especially in a former Confederate state. |

| I'm surprised that the prosecutor is actually going forth with the charge. Doesn't seem to be anyway that he could lose in court - though the US legal system is capable of some pretty screwy things. |

Nothing supirses me anymore about the failed American legal system. Does anyone remember a few years back, a man was suing for $65 million for a pair of lost pants, and the case lasted 2 years and went all the way to the states Supreme Court.

Well. The woman does have a point or a valid issue if it's a popular path kids take to school. I mean, if kids can see a man in the full monty in the morning it's not exactly what parents would like their kid to see after having their money breakfast.
But it is the man's right to do what he will in his own house. Couldn't they just ask him to close the curtains?
Is that so hard? |
