Right here, right now, my man.
1. I get paid on time, no hassles, no problems.
2. The apartment was brand new, and five minutes from the school.
3. The salary is only 2, but that's typical.
4. People leave me alone at work. I'm not drawn into the typical office BS.
5. But here's the real reason. I have four classes of students aged 9-12 that are MY classes. Every part of the class has my fingerprints on it, from who got to be in the class to what book we use to how the chairs are arranged. The only concession I had to make was agreeing to 12 students, when I really wanted only 8. Aside from that, I see them everyday, decide what's done, and how long it should take. If something needs to be reviewed for two weeks, I can review the thing for two weeks. It's an excellent situation.
6. To round off my schedule, they've given me conversation classes with the Korean English teachers. It's six hours a week. That's good, too. A little bit of adults, a little bit of children, I have the best of all possible worlds. |
