Okay, here is the situation.

I came over to Korea in 2009 to work for SMOE.

Since I had to purchase ticket myself, I was informed I would be reimbursed the relevant amount, as long as I had the receipts.

Now, for some reason I never got round to it, but I want to do it this year. I still have the receipt, so what are my chances?

since you waited so long the chances are prob not great for getting it, but you should be reimbursed since it was part of the deal. if youre still under your first contract, there is a moderate chance that they will just give the money to you when you submit the receipt. However 2009 arrival put you back in the previous fiscal year, could be an issue. But if you've been here more than a year, you'll be onto a new contract and under a new budget, etc. etc it's too late, you should have taken care of it a long time ago - that will be the basis for their denial. if youre serious about getting the money, prepare for a battle.

Just ask why you haven't received your money yet.

He knows the reason - he didnt submit the receipt after almost a year or more of being here.....

That's odd. I didn't submit a receipt. I got 1.3 million won a month or so after arrival. I'd feign ignorance and ask why I didn't receive my money, if I were the OP.

Also, we don't know if he's been here a year. If he came in September, he's still good.

But at some point (varies by region) contracts switched from ticket reimbursement (with receipt) to a flat 1.3 (no receipt). Depends what the contract they signed says.

I'd guess if the OP is still within a receipt-based contract (even by a matter of a few weeks) they have a good chance of still claiming their money back.

If the year has elapsed, slim to nil.

depends whats in his contract. if they said receipts, they may mean 'actual cost' reimbursement. i would hope hes smart enough to look at his contract to figure out the deal.

i didnt presume to know exactly how long he has been in korea. i covered that in my original response to him. my only presumption thus far is that i having designated this person as 'he'. (mostly because i think a girl would not have let an issue worth this much slide for as long as the OP did)
