Hi everyone. I have decided to suspend my start date in Korea till Agust of 2010 due to my recent employment (was going to do this on a temp. basis, but they want me to do gardening activities with the kids). My recruiter has gone ahead and sent me the contract for my orginal start date in Febuary. I know I will need to get a new background check, as they are only valid for 6 months, but would it be possible to send in the contract, recomendation letters, and other documents now for the August start date or should I wait.
Thanks,
Anna |

If you're applying for a public school position, schools won't start hiring teachers until it's at least within 6-8weeks of when they actually need one at the school. So, to answer your question, no school will give you a contract for August of 2010. You can sign it and turn it into your recruiter but it's just as good as garbage because the contract changes so often throughout the year and schools are never sure if they will have the funds to rehire/renew teaachers.
For public schools, they will want you here in mid August. I would suggest just waiting until summer to send in your papers. |
