Just wanted to warn those with PMP devices not to leave it plugged in the charger. I work at an office and the battery inside someone's PMP device exploded causing some serious damage to the surrounding area. I don't know what the model number was, but on the inside of the battery compartment, it said Homecast.

Might be useful to know which kind of PMP it was.

Istation recalled their batteries for the V43/T43/M43 range about 2 years ago. They had been swelling up alarmingly.

Bursting batteries is usually a problem with the battery. Not the device.

Yea, I wanted to post the model number, but they wouldn't let me touch the device. Could be this one..

But I guess it just might be good practice not to leave any device plugged in if it heats up..

Shocked

*touches charging PMP*

Room temperature.

What do you mean by don't leave it plugged in? You mean when it's done charging?

Right, when it's done charging, unplug the device from the charger. It's real easy to just leave it attached..I do it all the time, but after today, I'm gonna think twice about leaving things plugged in even when their already full charged.
