So, I am a guy who is in relatively good shape and the few extra pounds I do have is hard to notice due to me being 196cm, or 6'5". Unfortunately, there is one part of my that seems to be growing into an amorphous blob, and that is my neck, which is getting to the point of only being separated from my chin by my goatee. The goatee used to cover it up completely, but now it's way too noticeable. Neck fat is, from what I hear, almost impossible to burn and considering what happened to my grandparents (turkey gobbles), I think I want to go under the knife while the opportunity is here.

My question is have any of you done any liposuction or other cosmetic surgery here in Korea or even elsewhere. Are there any places you would recommend I could go. What did you way and what did you get done? I feel a little emasculated being a dude asking about this, but I know I couldn't afford it back home, so that leaves this forum for any questions I have.

While I can't help you with your question, I am very interested in it and respect you the courage you must have to ask it on such a forum.

I would recommend getting help from your Korean girlfriend. If it were me, I'd just ask her to make me an appointment and then go from there. Don't have a Korean girlfriend? Well, you're on your own I guess, and it's going to be a bit more difficult.

Maybe some helpful people with actual Korean plastic surgery experience can answer your question.

I think neck surgery is one of the very few cosmetic surgeries I might actually have considered if I needed it. While most plastic surgery makes you look worse afterwards, having a neck is definitely makes you look better, and if you have the genes for it it's not really much to do about it. I've seen skinny people with similar problems.

I don't have anything to actually contribute with, just wanted to say I have a lot more sympathy for this than for "too lazy to work out surgery" or "making yourself look worse through messing up your nose surgery".

If you liposuck the fat out, though, won't it leave you with a big dangly turkey wattle?
I suppose a staple or two would take care of that.
Have you given thought to growing out an Ivan the Terrible style beard?

First of all, I actually am skinny, albeit with a easily hidden gut. I've been called a beanpole forever. The neck just keeps getting bigger even as I'm losing weight everywhere else due to exorcise. Second is that the turkey waddle is exactly what I'm hoping to avoid with this. Third is that the Ivan beard really wouldn't suit me, I've done full beards before and it takes WAY to long to grow and I'm not a fan of having an itchy face.

It's a bummer, OP. Fat is weird, it collects in strange and unfair places sometimes. Good luck figuring out the best method to alleviate the problem.

It's probably not as bad as you think it is, though. If that's the only part of your body that's fat, it's likely a lot more noticeable to you than it is to anybody else.

I could be wrong, but it's something to bear in mind before you pay a grand or whatever to the surgeon.

Anyway, what I meant by the wattle comment was that if you get the fat out you'll still have a stretched and flappy skin-pouch there, and may still need one of the things caniff linked to. Though I suppose the docs will have some way to get around it...cutting and stapling, I guess.

I dunno, I'm just squeamish about cosmetic knifing, but I hope you don't have to go through with it. Maybe it's no big deal, but it seems pretty drastic.

Anyone on the board ever get any 'work' done?

I've been told I should get some work done, but I ain't that ugly just yet.
