Just got cable.
Amazed at how many dorky white folks there are on K. tv.
What is up with that?

I've been on K. tv three or four times--never asked to act like a complete nit-wit (bang yourself on the head, make monkey faces, talk in slow-motion, etc.)

I always wanted to wear the Barney suit. Animal costumes are cool.

The real clowns were the ones pretending to be rapists in the drama and "enhancing" our reputations on national television.

Deep Thirteen: Yiffy yiffy?

OP: Everyone acts like clowns on the gameshows and the like. I think it's just the slapstick humor.

I don't care what they do, but Korea is rediculously silly, bland and boring to me. You enjoy it by laughing at it. Why care about looking like what looks rediculously silly to Westerners when 8,000 miles from America in a strange land with a very different perception of reality in such a silly light? That silly geeky style works over there, but would be frowned upon as lacking value and professionalism back home. Or even gay. Yes, probably homophobic slurs and pedophilic speculations would come out of Americans mouths if they seen white actors on Korean TV. In America, what we do in Korea would be a flop even if you know how to be a good teacher in America, because you adapt more to what is demanded of you. They dork out on KBS and Arirang, because the Koreans go ga ga on all that silly hoopla that doesn't amount to a hill of beans of sense to us except when acting. I too dorked out on KBS a time or two just to make them happy in getting a laugh out of making us the laughing stock of the country. LOL. Doesn't matter as long as the customer is not your enemy nor working against you.
