Hey dudes and dudettes,
So now that PSN is up and running I'm thinking of downloading the "Arcade Edition" expansion for Super Street Figther IV. Thing is, Ive got a Korean version of the game and I'm not sure if DLC from the U.S. store will work with a Korean game.
From what I understand this goes on a game by game basis. Any of ya'll have luck with U.S. DLC and a Korean version of the game?
Thanks! |

from what I understand the DLC is region locked. I've never heard of another regions DLC working on a disc bought here. |

I've bought DLC for a few games bought here.
Like I bought SmackDown vs RAW 2011 and bought the Fan Axxess package from the US store and it worked. |

Seems like a recent poster mentioned purchasing DLC from the U.S. for the Korean version of "Red Dead Redemption" and it worked fine and dandy.
Then again, last year I picked up DLC for "Borderlands" and nothing doing.
I suppose I could just open up a Korean account, assuming Korea's PSN is up and running.
I am ready to do some World Warrioring!!! |

Korean PSN was not up as of last night. My wife called customer support last week and asked "When?" They said "We have no idea." I saw Arcade Edition disc advertised on an online retailer here. 38,000. |

Plus even when it is up, unless they changed it, you need a citizen number to sign up. Alien numbers won't work.
It's been a devil of a time trying to convince a Korean co worker to create an account for me just so I can cash in DLC codes. Basically, it's like asking an American for a Social Security Number. They think it's a scam and it makes them uncomfortable. |

I have the Korean version of Super Street Fighter IV and I can confirm that the USA Arcade DLC does indeed work. From what I've read, Europe and Japanese versions are locked, but the NA and Asia versions are not for some reason.
A lot of DLC is not region locked. It often mentions if it is locked on the product page on PSN, but I always check the net before I download. |

Thanks EricB. Now the debate (for me at least) is whether or not to get AE... I played it in the arcade last week and was not blown away. not 15 bucks blown away, anyway. Oni was lame. Evil Ryu was typical. Yun and Yang have never interested me. With them being so powerful, it might not even be worth the investment if i'm not going to play them.
I guess it would be best to wait and see if I'm able to get SSF4 matches in a week or two or whether EVERYONE in Asia has moved on. |

@Ericb, Thanks for the info. Good on ya, dude.
@Destroyer, did you play Arcade Edition here in Korea? If so, can you tell me the arcade? I'd like to try before I buy. But I agree with ya: the four new characters do zip for me, too. I'm more interested in the balancing/tweaks theyve done to some of the other characters. |

The arcade in Cheonho has AE as well as a few others. There's also Cafe ID in Hongdae for tournaments etc.. For updated SF info in Korea check out the Shoryuken.com Korea forum under Matchmaking/World |
