My wife will be coming to Korea soon and will need to get an E2 visa. While doing a Google search I noticed that there are a couple of commercial-type criminal background companies operating online that will do a background check for $29.95 (or something like that). Will the US embassy here appostille one of these? Will Korean immigration accept it?

Anyone know??

Why would I submit something that will be rejected?

That seems needlessly complicated as well as much more expensive than the normal background check required. Why bother?

So, your wife is a resident of a different state than the one you both currently live in? Confused I don't rightly understand how that works. I'm pretty sure she can just get one in the state she's in.

However, if you like being complicated, call the office of her residential state and I'm sure they can snailmail or fax you the necessary forms and information for you to mail back along with your prints.

Since last year around this time, they won't take an internet-based CBC either. Or has that changed lately?
