hey all, i'm sure this has been discussed quite a bit here but i can't be bothered to search for it. sorry, the search function is useless.
anyway, just wondering what types of packages everyone has with internet and cable. i think i'm currently paying far too much for my KT subscription that's usually around 35,000 a month. it's also not that fast. i have never experienced the raw potential of the korean internet's supposed 10 megabyte per second downloads. is that for real?
i may seem like an ignoramus for asking this but it's time for a change. i'd like to be able to watch tv again, foreign channels would be nice.
everytime my work puts me up in a hotel i'm up until the wee hours staring at the tube cuz it's such a treat. haha.
oh, and i'm not sure i'd be a fan of having the service that's only on-demand style programming. i like to just flip it on and watch what's on, particularly the news.
thanks ^^ |

I think your best bet would be to get internet and TV separately. Most places now are going to IPTV services. That means the TV will be sucking up all your bandwidth while you are watching it.
I have QookTV and I only just watch the English movies. The English shows they offer are prison break, CSI, and Gossip Girls. I have Megapass Lite and the internet bogs down when I'm downloading and watching TV. Its gotten to the point where I have to shut down my computer to watch TV, and turn off the TV to download.
Megapass DOES have a higher tier of internet service. Its the Megapass Premium. To get it in your one-room villa building, they need to run a fiber cable directly from the telephone pole, into your room. The main Call Center people will tell you the service is not offered in your building. However, the KT installer will do it for you if you ask.
What I usually do is I call them and tell them I need internet repair. They send a technician out. When he comes I tell him I want the faster internet and ask him to run it from the telephone pole directly into my room. |
