I have been living in this relatively new two bedroom 4 story townhouse since the end of July. My first full months electric bill came to 26,500 and I used the A/C at night only. The second month's bill came to 15,630 and now I just got this month's bill,it came to 7,810. I have all brand new appliances and the only items I always keep plugged in are the frig, washing machine ,alarm clock and my laptop computer every night. Also, the only light that I leave on ,is the one in the room I am working in.
I am not complaining and I think it is great, but is this normal for the bill to drop that much? I worried about the electric company coming back to me 5 months down the line saying I had a bad meter or the employee read the wrong meter and being billed for their screw .up |

Yes, the bill is calculated at an exponential scale. Some months I've paid 3,000 won. Now that it's winter, I'll be paying 100,000 bills. |

The answer I got for the same question is, the prices of gas, electricity, water, etc vary everymonth.
According to what happens in Middle-East that month. |

Dude, those are some pretty cheap bills!
I was astounded that at my new place, the total bill was 100,000 - for August.
30,000 alone goes to the security guard. |

My water + electricity usually runs me <15,000...its the damn 40,000 on TOP of that for "building maintenance" that jacks up my bill. I will probably see a 20k heating bill this month. |

If I had an A/C, I'd have blown 100,000 for August, too. |

The rates also change with the season. Your electric bill is higher per kilowatt-hour in the summer than in the winter and your gas rate is higher per cubic meter in the winter than in the summer. Supply and demand. |

100k a month is average for auxillary expenses. |

Frig is an older spelling variant of fridge (1930s/40s/50s), taken directly from the word refrigerator. As the name refrigerator shortened to fridge, and the commodity became a household necessity, rather than a luxury, the spelling no longer reflected the word origin (refrigerator) and shifted to a more usual English spelling correspondence /idge/ (bridge/ridge). |
