Just read this. Crazyness is everywhere it seems. Sad

Quote:
SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands A gunman went on a rampage on the Pacific resort island of Saipan on Friday, killing four people and wounding six others before fatally shooting himself, officials said.

Public Safety spokesman Jason Tarkong said two men, a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were killed in a half-hour of violence. The dead were all local residents.

The six wounded included a 4-year-old local girl and five visitors from South Korea.

I know. Sad

And this part also adds to the tragedy:

Let's hope that not only those Koreans but also that little local girl who was also wounded will be okay.

Hwaighting!

Why do we care about the nationality of the people hurt or killed. Aren't we all humans? Aren't we all equal?

A very sad day, and a black scar on a place that I found to be incredibly peaceful and safe. I guess not.

It could had been any body, but common sense says to dress for the occassion and place. Since this board is about Korea, the Koreans are of special interest here so it does get noted when anything involving a Korean happens. I know Koreans too well to know they usually dress up which comes off as offensive elitist message to poor men. You get negative response in poor parts of America too if looking too jazzed up and hot to trot in bling gear including Korean hiking gear besides the suits and jewelry over there. This means dressing down to go out in public, especially so in poorer countries. Sure, you could safely wear a $10,000 getup on a Korean mountain or beach, but not so in most countries of the world. Don't be the guy who wears shiny business suits to cross into Cambodia from Thailand without prearranged escort driver and then visits Anker Wat in said suit using a motorbike tuk tuk.

No, no one should be killed for being too dressed up, rich, or simply on vacation at the wrong time and place. The bad guys are wrong.
